The ESAAMLG Report 2019 – Mauritius is completely compliant with FATF recommendations

ESAAMLG highlighted that the country was mostly compliant with the 40 recommendations of the FATF but requested some improvement is 12 specific areas defined by the international authority.  The Mauritian Government took into consideration their comments and brought some amendments to the Anti Money Laundering/Combatting the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT), the Framework in the Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2018.

This improvement in the evaluation of Mauritius in the ESSAAML report reinforce the Financial Centre of Mauritius for being of good international repute and a Financial Centre with substance requirements.
