The Digitalisation at the heart of MITCO Group by the Head of IT, Business Process and Project Management, Mr. Jaweed Lallmahomed

People at MITCO have been able to work from home mainly as a result of its early Cloud adoption 3 years back. Senior Management of the Group, including MITCO’s CEO supported and approved this strategic transformational move. At that time, we were envisaging an infrastructure that could easily be upscale, one that would respond to existing and future IT workloads, from cross borders included.

We opted for the Microsoft Cloud to host our core application and contracted a Microsoft Gold Partner, specialist in this kind of setup, for a successful implementation. Being on Cloud offers us the other advantage of continuous accessibility to our mails, and the Microsoft Office suite of products. Overtime, we migrated other on-premises applications and shared-files to the Cloud.  This Microsoft Cloud implementation provided MITCO with a secure and productive work environment that enables business to coordinate between clients and various internal departments effortlessly.

When COVID-19 resulted in lockdown in Mauritius, MITCO was ready to roll-out ‘Work from Home’ (WFH), and with additional accelerated training on Microsoft Teams, its privileged collaboration and communication platform, it was able to swiftly embrace WFH that resulted in almost no business disruption.

Today MITCO’s ability to operate business as usual, during this confinement period, is a result of its focused and planned approach to Microsoft Cloud adoption comprising of Microsoft 365, Azure, Power BI, Compliance and Security.
