The Freeport Act

The main changes in the Freeport Act are:

 

• to authorize a third party freeport developer to rent space within a freeport zone to an enterprise outside the freeport zone for the manufacturing and storage of goods, subject to clearance of goods from the Director-General under the Customs Act.
• The word open storage has been replaced by open storage and display showroom under the list of activities under the Freeport
• The following item has been added to the third schedule:
