China-Mauritius: Celebration of 51st anniversary of the diplomatic ties
Celebrations marking the 51st anniversary of the establishment of the China-Mauritius diplomatic ties were held on the 23rd of May in Beijing. It will be recalled that the bilateral relationship between both countries was officially established on 15th April 1972 and this relationship has gone on from strength to strength over the years, especially with the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between both countries in 2021. It will be recalled that the FTA is the first agreement of its kind that China has signed with an African country.
