Premium Visa – Update as of 31 March 2023

As of 31 March 2023, the number of applications for the Premium Visa since its implementation, was as follows:

It will be recalled that the Premium Visa, introduced in November 2020, is issued for a one-year period which can be renewed thereafter subject to meeting the relevant conditions.  Applicants should produce proof of their long stay plans as well as sufficient travel and health insurance for the initial period of stay. They should also adhere to the following:

 

  1. Not enter the Mauritius Labour Market;
  2. Have their main place of business and source of income and profits outside of Mauritius;
  • Hold documentary evidence to support application such as purpose of visit, accommodation etc.;and
  1. Adhere to other basic immigration requirements.

The Premium Visa targets mainly the following categories of persons:

  1. repeat tourists;
  2. retirees;
  3. investors/professionals willing to come with their family and carry out their businesses or work remotely from Mauritius or offer their staff this facility; and
  4. those having their children studying in Mauritius
